UX/UI Design
A bootcamp project where I executed my first approach at UX and UI design with a conceptual skincare mobile app.

The Problem
Over the past decade the skincare industry has seen an exponential boom amongst a wide array of global consumers. While this immense growth has brought a countless number of new products for the average skincare enthusiast, it has also caused a new problem for the novices: where to even begin?
My goal was to create a skincare app that would serve as a solution to the double-edged sword that the skincare world has become. Features such as a quick skin quiz and custom skincare routine would establish a personalized feel and provide a kick-start to the user's skincare journey.
"It found that 62 percent of participants wanted skincare formulations and benefits to be more accessible and comprehensible. A further 80 percent of respondents reported feeling overwhelmed and confused by the skincare industry, with those who had sensitive skin being the most affected by conflicting information."

The User Persona
After a thorough analysis of results derived from research on multiple online forums, I created the character who would benefit most from this app. This person is a beginner when it comes to skincare and shares a common problem of feeling overwhelmed when deciding what to purchase for her skin. She has no time to seek a professional but is familiar with technology, thus making her likely to utilize an app for help.

The Wireframes
With a specific audience set, I began working on the sketches. I prioritized on creating a simple and direct layout because for this app the educational experience is key. I wanted the user to enjoy easy navigation with maximum efficiency so they can focus on learning their skin and skincare.

The Design System
What is a color that comes to mind when you read the words "clean" and "calm"? Many would answer blue and I was no exception as well. The vast majority of skincare gurus associate skincare with feelings of cleanliness, care, and calm to start and end their busy days. In tribute to such feelings I chose two shades: a sky blue and a rich indigo.
